At Magical Creatures Sanctuary, we strive to provide the best care and quality of life for all our residents, including those with special needs. We're thrilled to share our latest project with you: the design and construction of a special needs barn, a place where we can house all of our special needs residents under one roof, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The special needs barn is more than just a structure; it's a beacon of hope for our residents and our dedicated volunteer staff.

This barn will offer a multitude of benefits, including:

Safety and Accessibility: The barn will be equipped with a patient lift, enabling us to safely transfer our wheelchair-bound residents between their beds and wheelchairs. This ensures their comfort and safety, eliminating any risks associated with manual transfers.

Shelter from Inclement Weather: Our residents, especially those with special needs, deserve a warm, dry, and comfortable space to move around in. The special needs barn will provide a flat and protected environment, where our residents can roam freely even during inclement weather.

Enhanced Quality of Life: By consolidating our special needs residents in a dedicated space, we're promoting a sense of community and togetherness. This, in turn, will enhance their overall quality of life, fostering connections and friendships that are truly invaluable.

A Safer Working Environment: Our dedicated volunteer staff work tirelessly to care for our residents. The special needs barn will provide a safer and more efficient workspace, ensuring our staff can provide the best care possible.

Community Outreach and Education: The barn will serve as an outreach center for educational events, where students and other members of the community can learn about farmed animals.

A Medical Treatment and Recovery space: With well over 90 animals under our care, there is always someone who need a little bit of extra attention. The barn will be used to provide medical care and healing for the ones that need it, in a space where veterinarians can come on site to treat the animals rather than us having to bring them away from the sanctuary when they are ill.
