In 2016, Drs. Matthew McKay and Robyn Walser set out on a mission to increase access to low-fee, evidence-based psychotherapy in the Bay Area which led to the opening of Bay Area Trauma Recovery Clinical Services (BATRCS).

BATRCS is devoted to treating simple and complex PTSD from any source (childhood abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, crime, military related trauma, accidents, disasters, health related trauma, etc.).

Here we provide what so few clinics in the Bay Area offer: low fee trauma therapy. Many of our clients pay as little as $30 per session.

Because of that, we heavily rely on generous donors for financial support so that we can continue to provide access to these much needed services.

The evidence-based treatments we offer are rooted in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and EMDR protocols.

Our therapists are experienced graduate student clinicians who are supervised and fully trained by our directors.

BATRCS provides low cost services, including:

Individual Therapy, which utilizes EMDR, ACT, and CBT (including brief and prolonged exposure).
Managing Strong Emotions Therapy Group, where clients learn how to effectively manage overwhelming emotions.
Advanced Skills Workshop, where clients review, deepen, and integrate mindfulness and emotional effectiveness into everyday life.
Post-Trauma Group, which clients are invited to participate in at the final stage of recovery.
