Welcome to the Havurah of the Desert!

We are using a new platform to process your membership information and dues. It's called Givebutter, and it's available to nonprofit organizations.

Note 1: If you click on either button for $72 (Single Mensch or Couple Haver), the other $72 button lights up as well. Don't worry; just proceed. If you're a Single Mensch, ignore the first question on the next page ("If you are joining for 2 people, ...").

Note 2: The processing fee (amount that appears underneath your dues amount) goes to Givebutter to cover the cost of credit card processing. We hope you'll leave that in place so that the Havurah will get the full benefit of your dues. If you change it, Givebutter will deduct it from what it transfers to the Havurah. 

Note 3: On the payment page, feel free to reduce the tip to Givebutter (the section with the ❤️ icon). The tip is not tax-deductible.

• Click on the "15%" and change it to "Other."
• Click the minus sign next to the "$7.20" that will appear slightly below that until that amount is reduced to "$0.00."

We are an open and diverse Jewish community without walls, serving the Palm Springs and Coachella Valley area.

What is a Havurah?  "Havurah" is the Hebrew word for fellowship, and its root, "haver," means friend. ​​​

We are open to all interested in Judaism, regardless of age, religion, sexuality, or marital status. We are a warm, welcoming, and diverse group  who gather to enjoy Jewish life together. 

When you use this platform, some combination of "Givebutter" and "Havurah of the Desert" will appear in your credit card activity. 

Membership dues and contributions to Havurah of the Desert are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Our Federal Taxpayer Identification Number is 83-3670493.  We are registered in the state of California as a nonprofit religious charitable organization.
