Sleepless Night: Air Raid Sirens in Uman', Ukraine
A sleepless night.
As our Common Man for Ukraine co-founders venture deeper into the war zone than on previous relief trips, the dangers of war became ever clearer overnight.
Air raid sirens sounded. The air alert app that most Ukrainians rely on for safety flared red.
Thankfully, our co-founders are safe this morning.
Sadly, the same cannot be said for so many Ukrainians after Russian attacks further east.
The work continues.
The sleepless night gave way to an inspiring day.
Today, thanks to your generous support, we delivered food and critical supplies to:
200 internally displaced children from Kherson now living out the war at a school
Dozens of teenage boys living in an orphanage
A war-ravaged village in central Ukraine mostly cut off from normal supply lines
This is our ninth humanitarian aid trip led by our New England co-founders.
The Polish and Ukrainian volunteers who drive with us also lead our regular, twice-monthly convoys into these dangerous places.
We're forever indebted to them for their bravery and kindness.
