📢 EXECUTIVE BOARD NOMINATIONS – DEADLINE MAY 21 📢

We are looking for volunteers, including a President or Co-Presidents, for next year’s Parent Association Executive Board. You can nominate yourself or another parent. 

The Executive Board is a vital part of our school community that serves as the voice of the entire parent community on school and district leadership bodies; raises funds to support enrichment activities for our kids; and organizes events for the school community. 

Check out position descriptions on our website. All roles can have multiple officers.

🔹 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – CHINESE BOOK FAIR AND SPRING BASH 🔹

📚 The Chinese Book Fair is May 19-23.  We need volunteers to help kids with their purchases and to set up and clean up.  Please sign up here to volunteer!

🎪The first-ever Shuang Wen Spring Bash is coming up on Saturday, May 31, and we need your help to make this school-wide celebration a reality! We need parent volunteers to sell tickets at morning dropoff; help sell concessions; and supervise games and inflatables.  Please sign up here to volunteer.   

🍔 SHAKE SHACK FUNDRAISER - MAY 7

Eat at Shake Shack LES on Wednesday, May 7 and 25% of your total meal purchase will be donated to the Parent Association.   

Mention “Donation Day” at the register, or use promo code DONATE on the Shack App, web, or kiosk at checkout. 

Only valid at Shake Shack Lower East Side, on 131 Rivington Street.

💰UPDATE ON PARENT ASSOCIATION SPENDING

Parents are often curious to know how their donations to the Parent Association are used. Below is a list of events and materials that the PA has funded or will fund, partially or fully, since January. We thank all who have donated their time, treasure and talents this year.

🙌 GOOD LUCK to our kids in grades 3 – 8 who have state testing coming up the week of May 5! The PA provided granola bars and Lifesaver candies for testing days this past week and for those coming up.

⛱️CHINESE LANGUAGE LEARNING PLAYBOOK

The Parent Association and School Leadership Team are putting together a guidebook featuring fun ways for students to keep up their Chinese learning over the summer. We invite parents to send in any resources that your kids have found useful for practicing Chinese. Please email them to [email protected] or add them directly to this spreadsheet.
