🧧 From snow days to school days, we’re happy to be celebrating the joy of Lunar New Year at Shuang Wen! 🧧
🎉Lunar New Year Gala and Silent Auction Kickoff🎉
Don’t miss the Lunar New Year Gala Friday, February 27!
Families can buy tickets online HERE. Due to seating capacity in the auditorium, tickets will not be available at the door. All guests age 3 and above must have a ticket.
Free entry is granted to parent volunteers. Volunteers can sign up here.
Doors will open at 5 pm.
NYU’s official Chinese yo-yo team & performance troupe, Violet Diabolo, will take the stage at 5:20pm. Followed by an interactive workshop, a catered Chinese dinner and craft stations!
The Gala will also kick off the 9th Annual Lunar New Year Silent Auction, running online from February 27-March 8.
This PA fundraiser raises thousands of dollars every year for student enrichment, classroom grants and other critical needs at PS 184M.
Wear your finest red clothing or Chinese festive dress! We look forward to seeing you!
📚Chinese Book Fair 📚
The Chinese Book Fair with Yo! Baby is March 2nd - 6th. Volunteers & Class Reps, we need help ringing up students’ purchases. (volunteer signup) is open!

Nominations for PA Executive Board
Nominate yourself or another person at [email protected] Nominations will close at the end of our April meeting. Reach out to [email protected] if you have questions, are interested, we can custom-create roles too. E-Board members have to opt out or be automatically re-nominated!
The PA will host a presentation by the Office of Food and Nutrition Services at our March 18th meeting. If you have questions about the Shuang Wen cafeteria for Chrisula Sartzetakis, the supervisor for all D1 schools’ food services, please submit them through this Google form.
📸 Fifth Grade Yearbook Photos 📸
For fifth grade yearbook design, parents should upload photos as soon as possible to the Google Drive link that teachers shared in December. Fifth grade parents are requested to submit:
Baby headshot – please label with your child’s name
Current 5th grade photo – label with name
Photos from previous years – upload to the appropriate year folder
If you or your 5th grader want to participate in the design, let Dina (Gus's mom) know at [email protected].
☕Recent Events ☕
The Valentine’s Day Treat! on February 13th, was was a sweet surprise for students and a fun way to share a little extra joy during the school day. A huge thank you to parent Allison Wyman for organizing this event. Thank you to all who volunteered!
On January 31st at 9pm, Grace Jung led Taiwan Summer Camp Planning Workshop about how to book a Mandarin language camp in Taiwan. She covered how to look for camps, travel and booking tips, etc

🧧 從雪天到上學日，我們很高興能在雙文一起慶祝農曆新年的喜悅！🧧
🎉 農曆新年晚會暨無聲拍賣啟動 🎉
不要錯過 2月27日（星期五） 的農曆新年晚會！家庭可在線購票 （點此）。由於禮堂座位有限，現場將不提供售票。3歲及以上的所有來賓都需要購票。
家長志工可免費入場。志工可在此報名。活動將於 下午5點開門入場。紐約大學官方扯鈴表演團 Violet Diabolo 將於 5:20 PM 登台演出。
