Speaking of Culture Boxes...
🌐📦 Culture Boxes - A FREE Resource for Schools & Organizations
Special thanks to The Gelvin Foundation for supporting our Culture Box program in 2026!
Tulsa Global Alliance’s Culture Boxes bring global learning into classrooms and community spaces through hands-on, sensory experiences. Created in partnership with Eisenhower International School, each box represents a different culture and includes artifacts, books, games, and educational materials designed to spark curiosity and conversation.
With more than 50 Culture Boxes available, educators and community organizations across Tulsa use them to make global learning tangible and accessible for learners of all ages. The boxes support classroom instruction, cultural programs, and community events, helping participants explore the world without ever leaving the city.
A FREE resource for Oklahoma schools and educators
Choose from 50+ Culture Boxes representing cultures from around the world
Perfect for lessons, cultural celebrations, library programs, and community events
Open a box. Discover a culture. Inspire a world of learning!
The program was started in 1993 by Emily Wood, with the help of Tulsa Global Alliance and Eisenhower International School (EIS). The boxes are housed at EIS and may be checked out for up to two weeks by any group or organization.
Teachers across the state agree that Culture Boxes promote critical thinking and support visual, auditory, and tactile learners. Many boxes also contain curriculum resources to guide classroom presentations.
