OHBBO Notes
As summer is winding down, the HS Marching Band students are gearing up for summer band camp and the OHBBO Exec team is preparing for the end of summer volunteer needs, family festivities, and budget preparation for the new year. Read on for more details on how you can participate.
A lot of repairs to district instruments are taking place over the summer and they should be wrapping up soon. We expect to provide a comprehensive report on what your donations last year were able to accomplish for the program over the summer, along with our 2026-2027 budget, at our first Member Meeting on September 2nd.
Speaking of meetings, we are alternating our Member Meetings this year, between the ES and JHHS, to make it easier for all band parents to attend at least a portion of the meetings. We hope you are able to attend and share your ideas as we grow this new support organization!

Volunteer Update

Join the OHBBO team!
We are looking for more friendly faces to help us support our musicians! We currently have needs for:
Social media liaisons: Love sharing student success? We are looking for 3 people to work our social media--one for elementary band, one for junior high and high school band, and one to cover general band information.
Fundraising committee: Join the fundraising committee and help us brainstorm and execute projects to raise funds for our band needs!
Activities committee: We are looking for both a lead and members to plan celebrations and community-building among our band family.
Alumni outreach: The OH Band Family also includes former band students and their families. Help us connect with past graduates!

Upcoming Events--Don't Miss Out!
Wednesday, August 12th @ 7:oo pm: HS Band Camp Team Dinner and Uniform fittings. A volunteer link will be posted soon on our website and on social media.
Thursday, August 13th @ 8:00 pm: Family Band Concert on JHHS front lawn. All band families invited! Come and enjoy a cold treat, meet other band families, and hear what the high school students worked on during camp.

Fundraising:
Many, many thanks to our great supporters who have helped us raise over $7,000 so far this year!
Just a reminder: anyone who donates before the end of 2026 will be included on the founders plaque!

How are OHBBO funds being used?
Most of your donations to OHBBO are currently supporting repairs taking place over the summer as we help the band program get caught up on overdue instrument maintenance. OHBBO will also be funding the purchase of some replacement bibbers (the black pants worn under the marching band uniform).
We can't wait to watch this list fill up with green checkboxes and get these repaired instruments back into students' hands by the end of the summer!

If your student is moving from ES to JH or JH to HS Band, remember to join the new Remind classroom so you are receiving the correct updates from Mr. Leeds. Text the code below to 81010 or join in the Remind app/online.
