๐Ÿ‘‹ Welcome New Board Members

  • Erran Persley, Chief Economic Development Director for the City of Tulsa. Erran will serve as TGA's new Mayor's Liaison.
  • Tim Chambers, Vice President, Destination Strategy & Marketing, Tulsa Regional Tourism. Tim will serve as TGA's new Vice Chair of Marketing.
  • Garrett Gibson, Rights Manager for Gilcrease Museum, Russia scholar, Jenks history teacher, and board member for the Tulsa Committee on Foreign Relations. Garrett will serve as TGA's new Chair for the Tulsa-Zelenograd Sister City Partnership.

TGAโ€™s annual Coffee with the Councilors brought together city leaders, board members, and Sister City representatives to celebrate our cityโ€™s global connections. Over a spread of international dishes, attendees shared updates on cultural exchanges, global education, and the economic impact of Tulsaโ€™s international relationships. From student exchanges to film screenings and new partnerships, this event showcased the power of global engagement in Tulsa.

Current Political, Social, and Economic Issues for Young European Leaders ๐ŸŒ

TGA hosted 6 professionals through the U.S. State Departmentโ€™s International Visitor Leadership Program. This program aimed to connect Americans across the country with young European leaders - and introduce these European leaders to the innovative ways Americans are working to address political, economic, and social issues at the federal, state, and local levels.

Have you seen the new logo for our Mwanza partnership? The logo incorporates the iconic Bismarck Rock, a popular landmark located on the shores of Lake Victoria, and a fishing boat to reference the city's history and industry. The purple color ties into the Mwanza flat-headed rock agama - the male lizards have brightly colored purple-to-red upper bodies.ย

The Sister Cities International Youth Leadership Summit is back!ย 

The 2025 Youth Leadership Summit is an immersive program for young leaders, ages 14-18, from across the globe. Designed to inspire the next generation of citizen diplomats, the Summit equips participants with essential leadership and professional development skills. Through interactive sessions and activities, students will address global challenges, fostering a commitment to peace, mutual respect, and cross-cultural cooperation.
