In less than four months, our Friends group has grown into an active and enthusiastic community, united by a shared love for the library and its vital role in Martinsburg and beyond. Your creativity and commitment are what make this group so special. I’m excited for all that’s ahead, and so grateful to be on this journey with you.

Greetings from the Staff of the Martinsburg Library!

Thank you to the Friends of the Martinsburg Public Library (FOMPL) and our community for your support during the Martinsburg Library construction project. This major project replaces our outdated HVAC systems and electrical panel with one modern, energy-efficient system.

FOMPL in the Community: Summer Events & Service

This summer, the Friends of the Martinsburg Public Library showed up and got involved! From celebrating creativity at MBCPL’s annual Comic Con on June 7, to rolling up our sleeves at the Library Plaza Clean-Up on June 28, we’ve been proud to support events that bring our community together. Mr. FoMPL Speaks! A Gnome’s Guide to the Library

I’m positively tickled to share the magic. Yes, magic! of the Martinsburg Library. Just this summer through library books I traveled back in time, journeyed to far-off lands, and witnessed the impossible.

But books are just the beginning. The library has movies, video games, puzzles, and seeds for our gardens, plus resources for school, careers, health, and hobbies. I even get audiobooks and eBooks right on my phone with the Libby app for Google/Android and Apple/iOS!

Like a magic key, your Martinsburg Library card grants access at the Hedgesville, Musselman–South Berkeley, and North Berkeley branches. AND! You can also use your MBCPL library card at the public libraries throughout the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, including Shepherdstown, Bolivar-Harpers Ferry, South Jefferson, Berkeley Springs, and Paw Paw!

Now that you know the secret, will you help me share the library’s magic with all your friends, family and neighbors?
