❄Winter Spotlight: From Our Board of Directors 📋
Dear GGRLC Friends,
It’s hard to believe another year is already coming to a close—it has truly flown by.
As adoption applications continue to arrive faster than pups come into rescue, we’re thoughtfully working through our approved adopter list to ensure every Golden is matched with the home meant just for them. Your patience, kindness, and unwavering support make this possible. They mean the world to us—and to the dogs waiting for their moment to shine.
We were thrilled to host two Golden Retriever Meet-Ups this year—joyful gatherings that were as heartwarming as they were successful. And thanks to your generosity, our Cartober campaign resulted in the donation of a vehicle to support our mission. To everyone who attended, shared, donated, or cheered us on: thank you.
We also launched our GGRLC Golden Treats Shop, featuring delicious See’s Candies that make wonderful gifts while helping Goldens in need. You’ll find more details later in this newsletter.
Inside this edition, you’ll discover many ways to get involved—volunteering, fostering, helpful tips, inspiring stories, and more. We hope you’ll share it with fellow dog lovers and help us spread the Golden joy far and wide.
From our hearts to yours, we wish you and your furry companions a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year.
With deep gratitude, The GGRLC Board

To our incredible volunteers: thank you.
You are the heartbeat of this rescue—its strength, its spirit, and the reason so many Goldens find safety, healing, and love. Your time, your compassion, and your unwavering dedication mean more than words can ever express. We simply could not do this without you.
Let’s continue to grow this team, strengthen this family, and build the future our Goldens deserve—today, tomorrow, and always.
Your time doesn’t just help. It transforms lives.
✨ Welcome, Bentley, to Our Golden Guardian Family ✨
We are overjoyed to share that Bentley, a breathtaking English Cream Golden nearing 11 years old, has joined our Golden Guardian Program. This sweet boy arrived with significant joint issues and was later diagnosed with kidney failure, but thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, Bentley is exactly where he needs to be.
He is now wrapped in the devoted care of a foster dad who also happens to be a veterinarian—someone who understands his medical needs and showers him with the tenderness every Golden deserves. Bentley is safe, adored, and living each day surrounded by comfort, dignity, and endless love.
Because of you, he gets to live his golden years truly golden. ❤️

Our GGRLC Golden Treats Shop is officially OPEN — and it’s overflowing with irresistible See’s Candies treats that are guaranteed to delight every chocolate lover.
Here’s the best part: every purchase sends love right back to our rescue. Through See’s Yum-raising, a portion of every sale helps us save, heal, and rehome Goldens in need. A sweet treat and a sweet impact.
Whether you're craving something delicious or need a last‑minute gift that never disappoints, we’ve got you covered

🚗 Cartober Paid Off! 💲💲
🚗 We’re celebrating big news—GGRLC received a vehicle donation! A huge thank‑you to Karen C. of Myrtle Beach, SC, whose generous gift of an unwanted car has already made a life‑changing impact for rescued Golden Retrievers. Her donation didn’t just clear space in her driveway—it opened the door to hope for dogs who need it most.
And here’s the exciting part: You can create that same kind of impact.
Whether it’s a car, truck, motorcycle, RV, or boat, your vehicle donation can help Grateful Goldens Rescue of the Low Country raise thousands to support medical care, transport, and the safe rehoming of our beloved Goldens.
💛 It’s easy. It’s free. And it truly makes a difference.
And now there’s even more good news: Thanks to a new BBB tax benefit, non‑itemizers can deduct up to $1,000 for vehicle donations!
If you’ve been thinking about clearing out an unused vehicle, this is the perfect moment to turn it into something extraordinary.
Ready to drive change? Visit our CARS Donation page and become a hero to a Golden in need.

February 13 - 15, 2026
Charleston, SC
www.sewe.com
The Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (SEWE) is a celebration of the great outdoors through fine art, live entertainment and special events. It's where artists, craftsmen, collectors and sporting enthusiasts come together to enjoy the outdoor lifestyle and connect through a shared passion for wildlife.
GGR will once again have a booth at SEWE. You'll find us in the same spot as last year at Marion Square, usually along the long line of tents by the sidewalk. Watch for the Goldens! Volunteers will be on hand to provide information on adopting, fostering, and volunteer opportunities.
We look forward to seeing you there. We LOVE seeing our GGRLC alums! 🐕❤
22 Holiday Items That Can Harm Your Pet
The holidays bring plenty of joy and celebrations, but the merrymaking could put your pet in harm’s way.
Many of the decorations, foods, and festivities we associate with the holidays could cause big problems for your pet, putting them at risk for everything from indigestion to severe injury.
Here's a list of potential holiday pet hazards, plus tips for keeping your pets safe this season.
Key Takeaways
- Many common holiday foods, plants, and decorations can be harmful or toxic to pets.
- Keep your pet safe by preventing access to decorations, electrical cords, and dangerous foods like chocolate, grapes, and onions.

If your furkid goes absolutely bonkers for their beloved Lambchop toy — carries it everywhere, guards it like treasure, or uses it as the world’s softest pillow — then we’ve got the ultimate holiday upgrade for your good boy or girl.
✨ Introducing the Jumbo Lambchop! A glorious 24 inches of plush, squeaky, snuggly Lambchop joy. Perfect for the dog who’s been very good this year.

🎉 36" MEGA Lambchop! Yes — three feet of pure, ridiculous, wonderful Lambchop magic. The kind of gift that instantly becomes a core memory.
Here at GGRLC, we have zero doubt that every one of our alums has earned MEGA‑status this year. They’ve loved big, snuggled hard, and brought joy to their families every single day.
