It is always a joy and a challenge to compose these monthly updates!  A joy because the Lord continues to work through Apologetics On Mission in ways that amaze us, and a challenge to try to keep these short and to the point with all that is happening!  So here goes:

People Updates

AoM is excited to welcome our good friend Carey Smoak as part of our next Africa missions team.  Carey has been part of AoM as a lecturer for our course, and now will be traveling with me (Ben) to Africa soon!  Please lift up Carey and his wife Karla for this trip and his growing role with AoM.

We announced last month that Dr. Stan Wallace joined our board of directors.  New candidates for our BoD continue to surface, and we are excited about some great opportunities--please pray that the right leaders would join AoM and serve in guiding and growing the ministry.

Upcoming Mission Trips

For the remainder of 2024, AoM has a full schedule of trips. 

Ben and Carey will lead the Africa Fall 2024 mission, traveling to Pretoria South Africa, Ishaka Uganda, and Nairobi Kenya.  We'll participate in multiple conferences, host three leaders summits, and celebrate two graduations with our students from the last two Intro to International Apologetics (ITIA) courses.  We will be meeting and partnering with many ministries along the way:  Africa Connected, Apologetics South Africa, Ratio Christi, Reasons to Believe Africa, Apologetics Uganda, Africa Centre for Apologetics Research, Apologetics Kenya, and more.  It's through collaboration with this growing list of partners that the vision of raising Christian defenders globally is becoming a reality!

Ryan Raburn (AoM's Eastern European Regional Director) has an amazing opportunity to return to the Balkans--this time to Albania--to continue the work the Lord has opened for AoM through Ryan's relationships.  Please pray for the details of this trip, especially with new partners that we've made!

Doug and Ben will be traveling back to Brazil in October.  AoM has two major opportunities there:  First, Doug's background continues to open up doors for AoM to the global military officers community.  We will be presenting four sessions on apologetics at the "every ten years" global WorldCon event of the Association of Christian Military Fellowships. Not only will this give us a huge Brazilian audience, it will also connect us to over 100 countries attending!  We are also organizing a "leaders' summit" with a group of Brazilian partners to listen and brainstorm a long-term strategy for apologetics in that region.

Growing AoM's Social Media Presence

AoM has taken a big step forward towards increasing our presence on social media.  This is essential in continuing to grow as an organization so we can say "YES" to the many opportunities we currently need to say no to just to avoid over-extending our small ministry.  We have hired an excellent and well connected firm to help boost our Facebook and Instagram awareness and grow the people who follow and support the vision.  Sound Faith Consulting is on board with AoM for a 3-month campaign to connect more people with AoM.
