🦃 From morning drop-off smiles to after school hugs, we’re feeling the warmth of our Shuang Wen community this November! We’re thankful for our incredible families who make this community so special!🦃
Emergency Food Resources for the Shuang Wen Community!
The PA has been busy this month collecting and distributing food to families in our community affected by food insecurity. Special thanks to Ollie Fielding, Alice Choi-Barrick, and all parents who have given time, money or goods. This was an incredible response from our community!
Additional thanks to NYC Hospitality Alliance for providing us with a $1,000 grant so that families in need can get hot meals at our partner restaurants, Wu's Wonton King and Madison St. Pizza. If your family is still in need of meal vouchers please contact [email protected].
Florence’s Food for Friends Friday program will also take place this Friday. This student-led initiative encourages you to involve your children in making an extra portion of your meal on Thursday night. Bring the extra serving to school on Friday morning, where it will be collected for distribution to families in need. Empty food containers will be available at the bake sale on Thursday (more on bake sale below!).
Our next major food distribution will take place on Monday, November 24 2:15-3pm on Montgomery Street. Sign up to help here. This distribution is kindly sponsored by Trinity Church Wall Street who are supporting all D1 schools.

The season of thanks is the perfect time to volunteer for PA events, activities, and fundraisers!
We're seeking parents to join the teams behind these upcoming events:
Lunar New Year Gala, February 27th: Contact Ada Robinson at [email protected]. Help is needed with decoration, marketing, setup, etc.
Silent Auction, February 27th-March 8th: Contact [email protected] if you would like to donate or can help with soliciting donations.
Chinese Games Night, March 13th: Contact Grace and Kaia at [email protected] to help plan this new event!

The PA has set aside $10,000 in mini-grants funding for teacher- and staff-proposed projects and purchases for the benefit of Shuang Wen students. If your child’s classroom teacher has an idea or need, please encourage them to apply.
