🏠 Home Hosts Needed for Youth Ambassadors: Oct 19–29

Tulsa Global Alliance will host 16 high school Youth Ambassadors (ages 16–18) and 3 adult leaders from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, and Peru through the U.S. State Department’s Youth Ambassadors South America program. We are seeking families to welcome these visitors into their homes from October 19–29, providing meals, a place to stay, and transportation to and from the University of Tulsa on weekdays. (TGA can assist families with transportation if needed.)

This is a meaningful opportunity to share Tulsa hospitality while supporting international youth leadership and civic engagement.

Mayor Monroe Nichols of Tulsa and Mayor Enrique Francisco Galindo Ceballos of San Luis Potosí will join for the unveiling of the newly installed Caja de Agua Fountain, a gift from our Sister City and a lasting symbol of connection between our communities.

The fountain is a replica of the historic Caja de Agua in San Luis Potosí, built in the early 1800s as a water reservoir and beloved landmark. The new installation at Tulsa Botanic Garden stands over eight feet tall, crafted from pink quarry stone and surrounded by plants native to the Mexican region.

The public is invited to attend the celebration. The Garden will remain open until 5:00 PM for guests to enjoy the new space.

This project is a collaboration between the City of Tulsa, Tulsa Global Alliance, and the Tulsa Botanic Garden, with support from community partners in both Tulsa and San Luis Potosí.

Circle Cinema, Tulsa Global Alliance, and Tulsa Botanic Garden invite you to a special screening of the Oscar-winning Mexican film Roma in celebration of Tulsa’s Sister City San Luis Potosí. Directed by Alfonso Cuarón, Roma offers a moving portrait of family, identity, and everyday life in 1970s Mexico City.

This screening coincides with the dedication of the Caja de Agua Fountain at Tulsa Botanic Garden and Tulsa’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, highlighting the cultural connections that unite Tulsa and San Luis Potosí.
