Executive Director Update
As spring arrives, we’re reminded that this season is about renewal, growth, and fresh beginnings. Thanks to your continued support, families across Clinton, Essex, and Franklin Counties are experiencing that renewal in very real ways. From helping pets receive veterinary care to ensuring senior companions remain comfortable at home, your generosity is making a lasting difference.
This spring, a few key moments reflect the heart of our mission:
March – Poison Prevention Month: As families spend more time outdoors and begin spring cleaning, it’s an important reminder to keep pets safe from common seasonal hazards.
April 11 – National Pet Day: A day to celebrate the joy pets bring to our lives and to recommit to their lifelong health and well-being.
May – National Pet Month: A time to recognize the vital role pets play in our families and communities, and to highlight the importance of accessible veterinary care for all.
Spring is also a season of renewed growth. One of the most impactful ways to sustain that growth for NAPF is through recurring donations. Monthly gifts provide consistent support, allowing us to respond quickly to urgent needs and ensure families know help is available when they need it most.

Moose: A One-Year Update

The first photo is from when Moose’s fundraiser first began over a year ago. The second shows Moose at a later milestone: bigger, scruffier, and still full of personality. While time has passed, his medical journey is still ongoing.
Update from Moose’s family:
“We plan on going back to the specialist and getting Moose’s surgery done sometime in June. His 2nd birthday is at the end of May and we wanted to wait until he was done growing.”
This wait was intentional and made in Moose’s best interest; and now the next step is finally approaching. What’s left is making sure the funds are in place so Moose can move forward with surgery and recovery.
If you’re able to donate or share, it truly helps keep Moose’s fundraiser moving after a long but necessary pause. Every bit of support still matters.

NAPF Is Seeking New Board Members!
We're looking for dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our Board of Directors. As we continue to grow and expand our impact across Clinton, Essex, and Franklin Counties, we’re seeking community-minded leaders who believe in our mission of helping low-income families care for their pets during difficult times.
Board members play an active role in guiding the organization, supporting fundraising efforts, participating in quarterly meetings, and serving as ambassadors for NAPF in the community. We welcome applicants with a wide range of skills: nonprofit experience, finance, fundraising, veterinary knowledge, communications, community outreach, and more.
To be eligible, applicants must live, work, or worship in Clinton, Essex, or Franklin County and be at least 18 years old. The Board of Directors is committed to representing the diversity of our community and does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.
If you’re passionate about animals, community service, and helping families care for the pets they love, we encourage you to apply.
