Dear Tulsa Global Alliance Friends and Supporters,
We need your help now more than ever. Right now, Congress is considering a federal budget that would slash funding for international exchange programs by 93%. The budget would drop from $741 million to just $50 million.
These aren’t just numbers. This cut would devastate programs like the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), a program that brings emerging global leaders to Tulsa for professional exchange, cultural understanding, and lasting connection.
📉 WHAT’S AT STAKE
- A 93% reduction to U.S. global exchange funding
- A drop from $741 million to $50 million in total support
- The potential loss of Tulsa’s ability to host these impactful programs
⚠️ WHY THIS MATTERS TO TULSA:
Tulsa Global Alliance is the only organization in Oklahoma that implements IVLP, the U.S. State Department’s flagship international exchange program. These future leaders experience American life firsthand while sharing their own cultures through:
- Professional meetings with local leaders
- Home hospitality with Tulsa families
- Cultural and tourist activities across the city
- Volunteering with local nonprofits in our community
The economic and cultural impact is significant. Funding that we have received through these programs has had more than 11x the economic return in the Tulsa area.
