As part of the Winthrop Balloon Roundup, we have participated in a hot air balloon night glow right in downtown Winthrop here in the Methow Valley, just for fun.. and as a way to give back to the community here. It only seems like a nice thing to do, since this is our favorite place to fly and we've been flying here since the 1980's. This year, we're also supporting a good cause. The
Friday Food Program, run by The Cove in partnership with the Methow Valley School District, has been helping kids here in the valley and that's worth helping out with. Many students in the valley qualify for reduced-cost or free school lunches. Every Friday, backpacks filled with food are sent home with students who might otherwise go hungry. It’s simple, but it works. The Cove also helps to pay for delinquent school lunch accounts. So this year, we want to have our little balloon glow contribute in a meaningful way to help kids that need it.
Every dollar raised goes directly to The Cove’s Friday Food Program.
100% of the funds stay in the Methow Valley, feeding local kids in need.
Your donation provides weekend meals for students who depend on school food.
The Glow takes place on March 1 as always, and as always it's free to join the party, it's just that this year, we're trying to help out a little to the community we've enjoyed flying over for so many years. We look forward to seeing you!
