Microchip Scanners for Rescuers/Networkers

We want to support Independent Rescuers and Networkers by offering FREE Microchip Scanners! Often, everyday people step up to help dogs and cats in need, sometimes finding these animals on the side of the road or being given away by strangers.

It is common to have to take an animal to a local veterinarian or shelter in order to use a Microchip Scanner to determine if the animal has a Microchip. If there is one, then the contact information can be searched online and the owner who is hopefully looking for their pet can be contacted quickly.

If Independent Rescuers or Networkers have a Microchip Scanner on-hand, then it makes the process of reuniting lost pets quicker and more streamlined. If there is a Microchip, it is quick and easy to search the Microchip Number online and retrieve the contact info of the owner and contact them. This can help reduce the number of lost pets being unnecessarily taken to the shelter as a stray because they can be reunited sooner.

Each Microchip Scanner costs approximately $34 after tax through Amazon. Once this program has some funding, we will begin offering this to the public with more detailed information on how to qualify to receive a FREE Microchip Scanner and the form to complete to request one.
