Fetch Animal Rescue is looking to build the very first 24-hour microchip scanning station in California City, CA so that people can scan a lost dog or cat found to see if it has a microchip. We all know a dog or cat can be found at any hour of the day or night and having a place guaranteed to be available to check the animal for a chip is vital in hopefully getting the pet back home to its owner quicker, by having such an available place to do so 24/7. In California City, the California City Animal Shelter has limited hours daily, the Cal City Fire Station might not be available at the time needed, nor those in the community who have a microchip scanner may not be available at the time needed as well. This is an added FREE option to alleviate all the what ifs.

Around the nation, organizations are implementing microchip scanning stations in their communities they serve. It has purpose and adds value to the community by having one. Fetch aims to achieve the same objective. Therefore, we are raising the remaining funds needed to build our very first 24-hour Fetch Microchip Scanning Station which will be located at a designated location we have secured in California City, CA.

Those who donate to this project will be listed on the instruction sign at this specific station indicating your name along with all those who donated to this microchip scanning station project as one of the funders of this station. Giving you the recognition you deserve! This first station might very well be the 1^st in Kern County and once implemented we will then seek corporate sponsors to build more so that we can eventually put them in all communities within Kern County and potentially beyond. Our station will not look like any other microchip scanning stations out there in communities that have implemented them. It will embrace technology and be more than just a station that only has instructions and a box with a scanner in it.

So how will a Fetch Microchip Scanning Station be different than other microchip scanning stations? Because our microchip scanning station will consist of more than just instructions and a box with a scanner in it. The station will also have solar lights to light up the instruction sign at night, the scanner will be secured to the station using a thick cut resistant cable, it also has a solar camera that is operated either by 4G cellular service or Wi-Fi. The camera has 2-way audio, night vision, zoom, and an audible alarm. We will also be alerted immediately when a person or animal shows up at the station. This will allow Fetch the ability to assist people at the station if needed and if a Fetch rep is currently available, it allow us to track the amount of people using the station for data purposes, allows us the ability to maintain extra security for the station, give Fetch the ability to capture images of the animal with date/time stamp, and deter people from attempting to abandon an animal at the station, as well as for other reasons. Also, the benefit of having a scanning station with 4G cellular capabilities and solar operated will allow us to place stations in rural areas in the county regardless of service availability. What is the cost to build the Fetch Microchip Scanning Station in California City that Fetch is raising money for? The simple answer is $1,314.00. It includes the cost of all items needed, taxes, and delivery costs involved. Here is the good news! So far, a donor has purchased the camera system needed with a 4-year warranty, purchased the solar light for the instruction sign, purchased the solar green light for the top of the station, and purchased the station box needed to hold the scanner. By doing so, those items acquired reduces the remaining amount needed to build this first station down to $991.00. This is the amount we are now raising to finish the build of the first station and implement it for public use in California City, CA ASAP.
