Welcome to the Mid-South Region Angela Holder Memorial Scholarship Campaign!

The Angela Holder Memorial Scholarship is presented in honor of the extraordinary legacy of Dr. Holder to the outstanding collegiate singer in the Mid-South Region Auditions.

Dr. Angela Easterday Holder was a beloved colleague and friend. She was a NATS leader who served on the national board as Region Governor for the Mid-South Region and also served as Vice President and Secretary/Treasurer for the Tennessee Chapter. “Angela personified the best of our profession. She inspired students and colleagues alike with her passion for teaching and singing.” - Allen Henderson, NATS Executive Director (and classmate of Angela)

Dr. Holder was Chair of the Department of Music and Carson-Newman University. A native of Knoxville, Angela graduated from Powell High School, received a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from Carson-Newman University; a Master of Music in vocal performance from the University of Tennessee and a Doctor of Musical Arts from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Her teaching career began at Georgetown College where she taught voice for eight years. She joined Carson-Newman's faculty in 2003. She was the director of Redemption, a contemporary Christian vocal ensemble that presented worship experiences for chapel programs and area churches.
