Funding for Miko's Dog Sanctuary

THIS IS A LONGTERM PROJECT GOAL. Currently no potential properties.

Miko's Rescue Mission Inc. has always had the end goal of creating a pitbull sanctuary to be a permanent home for dogs who are unadoptable due to specific behavioral needs or high-risk for liability reasons. 

The goal is to acquire a 2.5 to 3 acre property that is already built-out to meet our most important needs. These needs include:

• Having at least 1 house with a minimum of 3 bedrooms/2 bath
• Fully fenced with sturdy materials such as brick, rod iron, etc.
• The ability to divide the property into multiple play yards
• A second building such as a workshop, ADU, detached garage, apartment, etc. that has electricity & plumbing already completed
• Located within or close to a larger city with neighbors at a distance (so no noise complaints from barking)
• A property that is currently zoned (or can be zoned) for a kennel permit/license within Kern or Ventura County (ideally close to the cities of Bakersfield, Moorpark, or Simi Valley) in California
• Must be within standard delivery service areas (for packages, shipments, etc.) and short driving distance for future volunteers/employees

The type of property we are seeking is out there, and we are determined to find the perfect space for these deserving dogs! We are open to raising funds to be able to put a down payment on a property, OR having a person or company donate property for this worthy cause!

As previously mentioned, this is a longterm goal and there are not currently any plans in motion. So, let's change that! The current financial goal listed here is $10,000, though we are not yet actively searching for a property to buy. Any funds donated here will remain in GiveButter until the time comes.
