Mile a Day in May

Every mile makes a difference.

Every day this May, something powerful happens.

A mom laces up her sneakers after dinner while her toddler rides in the stroller.
A dad walks laps around the soccer field during practice.
Siblings race down the sidewalk together, laughing.
Grandparents take an evening stroll around the neighborhood.

One mile at a time.

Mile a Day in May is more than a movement challenge. It’s a community coming together to support children who are working hard to reach their developmental milestones.

How does it work?

Participants commit to moving one mile (or 20 minutes) a day throughout the month of May while gathering pledges from friends, family, and neighbors. Every step taken represents a child building strength. Every mile completed represents progress. Every pledge given helps provide critical early intervention services for children in our community.

You don’t have to be a runner.
You don’t have to be fast.
You just have to move.

Walk the dog.
Dance in the living room.
Push a stroller.
Hike a trail.
Treadmill during nap time.

However you move, you’re helping a child move forward. Deadline to join: April 24, 2026.

Creating your team

To get started with creating your team, click on "Join a Team". A pop-up will appear, asking you to register for an account. After registering, you will have the option to join a team or create a team.

If you are joining a team, they should appear on the dropdown menu. Select your team, add your fundraising goal, and share your story.

If you are creating a team, you will need to add your team name, logo (this is optional), and fundraising goal. You can also share your story.

You will then be prompted to choose your donation amount, followed by your t-shirt size. Lastly, you will finalize your donation, and you are all set!

At the Pediatric Learning Center, we see those milestones every day - a first word, a first independent bite, a first step, a first time joining peers in play. For many of the children we serve, those milestones don’t happen without support. They happen because families, therapists, and community members show up consistently.

That’s what this month is about: showing up.

Let's talk prizes

The top three teams that raise the most funds (via sponsorships or donations) will be announced and receive their prizes during our Sing-Along Karaoke event on June 12, 2026 at the Owner's Box. The prizes are:

1st place: a $75 gift card to the Owner's Box

2nd place: a $50 gift card to the Owner's Box

3rd place: a $25 gift card to the Owner's Box

Early intervention works best when it happens early - and when a community stands behind it. When you participate in Mile a Day in May, you are investing in brighter futures, stronger families, and children reaching milestones they once struggled to achieve.

Because small steps really do lead to big impact.
