MILES FOR THOSE WE MISS

This year, I will participate in MILES FOR THOSE WE MISS, by running/walking 5k (3 miles) on Christmas day to honor my mom's memory.

My mom, Mrs. Elizabeth Owiredu-Gyampoh who passed away suddenly over 11 years ago, was a light to those she crossed paths with. She was an advocate for women and children, and as part of her work she supported equitable and sustainable livelihoods for people in rural communities.

This campaign will contribute to sustainable livelihood in rural communities, by providing cash assistance of $200 to a woman in a rural community in Ghana to start petty trading, through the nonprofit Feed Me Before The Sun Sets.

Feed Me Before The Sun Sets is a nonprofit committed to providing grocery packages and meals to the disadvantaged elderly, households in dire need, the homeless, and most vulnerable in our communities in Ghana. The nonprofit is also committed to sustainable living in rural communities, by empowering women through petty trading.

The organization completes running streaks, races, hiking challenges, and mountain climbing to raise funds to reduce food insecurity in our communities.

MILES FOR THOSE WE MISS is an initiative started by William Goode to honor his mom's beautiful memory by running on Christmas day.
