Elizabeth Varelman's Story

Hi, I’m Elizabeth Jane Varelman—and I’m proud to represent Kansas as your 2025 Jr. Miss Amazing.

I’m a disabled artist, advocate, and the founder of the Ability Artz Foundation, an organization that uplifts artists with disabilities who use their work to advocate for human rights. I’m currently earning a dual degree in Management & Leadership and Metalsmithing & Jewelry at the University of Kansas, while also completing a national disability leadership fellowship at the KU Medical Center.

My art isn’t just about beauty—it’s about access, identity, and visibility. I create jewelry and mobility aids that speak to the pride and power of the disability community. Through Ability Artz, I help other disabled artists do the same.

Miss Amazing gives women like me the chance to lead—not just perform. This isn’t about a crown. It’s about showing the world that disabled people belong in every space—including the spotlight.

Your support helps me travel to nationals, continue my advocacy, and represent our community on a national stage. Every donation makes a difference. Thank you for helping me make history—one step, one piece of art, and one voice at a time.

I work primarily in sterling silver, creating sculptural jewelry and custom mobility aids that honor disability pride. My pieces blend fine art with function—turning access tools into statements of identity and resistance. Every piece I make is rooted in lived experience, designed to be seen, worn, and felt.
