Be the difference
Being a mom can be isolating. Especially if your child is being bullied.
You can help put in an end to that heartbreaking feeling of Jessica, a mom of three, seeing her child get off the bus and knowing that the bullying has started again. Her son doesn't even have to say it, it's written all over his face. Below that sweet face is a huge rip in the brand new shirt he was so excited to wear to school this morning. This shows mom that not only has the bullying started again, but it's gotten worse. She wants to run over and sweep him into her arms like she has done since the day he was born to assure him that everything is okay.
However, she knows the second she does that the tears that he is fighting back will unleash and he will be embarrassed in front of his older brother. She lets out a long deep breath as her world caves in on her. She doesn't know how they are back here; she thought this was all over.
Every day in classrooms across Pennsylvania 1 in 5 children are being bullied. Bullying is not what many people think it is. It is no longer taking someone's lunch money. Children today that are being bullied are experiencing severe injuries, longterm trauma, and with social media they can never escape it.
You can be the difference between this mom's world caving in, and her child enjoying the school year. Your gift can ensure that she knows her rights when it comes to the school taking her sons bullying seriously. You can make sure she has a highly trained advocate with her to attend all meetings with her at her child's school.
The mission of the Parent Alliance is to support parents of children with mental health challenges to be their child’s best advocate. So far this year we have worked with 187 parents across the State of Pennsylvania and we have been overwhelmed by the serious influx of about bullying calls since the start of the school year. As moms ourselves, this breaks our heart, as advocates this lit a fire under us.
You are the kind of person that wants to take action to put an end to bullying. With your generous support parents across the state will get the support they need to address and swiftly put an end to their child's bullying.
P.S. Your donation is even more valuable than you might expect. Because the Parent Alliance also provides help to parents who's children are bullying so they can heal and end the cycle of abuse.
