I'm a super passionate naturalist and born and raised Mainer who can't get enough of being outside and capturing the wonders around us. I'm also a Registered Maine Guide, Wilderness First Responder, Co-Founder of Maine Outdoor School, L3C, and producer of The Nature of Phenology, a 5-minute weekly radio show about the Maine outdoors for WERU-FM.
Nature sketching, photography, and writing are my three primary artistic pursuits related to sense of place, but I'm also an avid fiber artist. I have never been to Monhegan, but it has been on my list since I was a caretaker of Damariscove Island (about 15 miles west of Monhegan as the gull flies). There's something about remote islands.
I'm most excited to visit this island and luxuriate in the signs of spring while focusing on my own artistic pursuits without my usual daily distractions.
What inspires my creativity? Nature! What could be a more chaotically organized and perfect inspiration for all of us?
