Story
Our faithful Parish community of St. Elizabeth's, of which Raider Catholic belongs, has a rich history of Catholicism dating back to the 1920's when it was decided a new Catholic Parish would be erected near the newly established Texas Technological College. The commitment and persistence of faith from the Parishioners brought about a beautiful church which serves as our chapel for various services, including weekly Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
In order for Adoration to be possible, a beautiful Monstrance was purchased in the 1940's (or possibly even the 1930's) for the thriving Catholic community. Over the years, the Monstrance was replaced with the original being stowed away in the church closet.
Now, after a renewed interest among our Catholic students in Raider Catholic, and led by our current Catholic Student Association president, in accord and cooperation with the Pastor of St. Elizabeth's we are asking for YOUR HELP in restoring this beautiful sacred object to help bring even more beauty to our weekly Adoration opportunity our students have come to love and appreciate with such zeal.
We're asking for your assistance in seeing out this restoration process. This will include:
This will cost $3,500 in order to complete the project. However, we are called to give our best to God and His Church, and have set a goal of $5,000 in order to have real gems mounted into this beautiful Monstrance.
Any additional funds will be provided to the church to help offset costs associated with Eucharistic Adoration, such as incense, charcoals, candles and candle stands, any Liturgical Vestments needed, at the Parish's discretion.
We appreciate your thoughtfulness in our pursuit of achieving this wonderful restoration so needed for our beautiful Monstrance!
