Join the Movement: Support Adaptive Yoga for Individuals with Disabilities in Schools and Day Programs
In Colorado, more than 12% of public school students and 1 in 4 adults live with a disability. And yet, accessible, inclusive wellness options are few and far between—especially for students of color, who make up nearly 40% of the disability population in Colorado schools.
At Move Through Yoga, we believe every individual—regardless of ability—deserves access to the healing power of yoga. Through our adaptive yoga programs, we empower students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to build strength, reduce anxiety, and feel seen and celebrated.
We're currently rolling out programming in 31 DPS and DSST schools with plans to expand to Aurora Public Schools and additional districts in 2026—and we need your help to get there. We are calling on you to help us reach our 2026 fundraising goal of $100,000 so that we can continue to provide and expand upon these life-changing services.
Your gift helps Move Through Yoga:
✅ Provide inclusive yoga programming to students with disabilities in their special education classrooms or adapted PE classes.
✅ Train educators and caregivers on how to utilize co-regulation strategies and implement accessible and inclusive adaptive yoga
✅ Host advocacy events like The Yoga Wave—free of charge to families and schools.
✅ Remove barriers like transportation, equipment, and accessibility.
Together, we can ensure that no student is left out of the movement for wellness, dignity, and belonging.
We’re building more than yoga classes—we’re creating a movement for inclusion in schools, in communities, and across Colorado.
Your support brings visibility, empowerment, and healing to students who are too often left behind. Let's ride the wave of inclusion—together. To learn more about Move Through Yoga’s programs, or to donate, visit www.movethroughyoga.org.
Provide accessible props—like blocks, straps, and chairs—for a full adaptive yoga class. These tools ensure every student can participate safely and confidently, regardless of mobility or ability.
Support transportation, equipment rentals, or facility fees for a school to participate in The Yoga Wave—costs that are not covered by school budgets but are essential for inclusion.
Sponsor partial tuition for a teacher, parent, or direct service provider to complete our 65-hour Adaptive & Trauma-Conscious Yoga Certification, bringing inclusive wellness directly into their community.
Fund a full adaptive yoga residency (up to 6 classes) at a school, transition center, or day program. Every class is customized to support physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being for students with I/DD, and provides one lead teacher and up to 2 assistants.
Become a key sponsor of The Yoga Wave, ensuring this community-wide celebration of inclusion remains free and accessible. Your gift helps cover transportation, props, facility rental, and outreach to new schools.
Help us expand adaptive yoga into new school districts and build sustainable pathways for long-term inclusion—this level of giving fuels teacher training, curriculum development, and long-term programming growth.
