In Colorado, more than 12% of public school students and 1 in 4 adults live with a disability. Yet for many—especially students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD)—access to inclusive, regulation-informed wellness programming remains limited or nonexistent.

At Move Through Yoga, we are changing that.

Through adaptive, trauma-conscious yoga and co-regulation practices, we partner directly with schools and community programs to support students in building strength, increasing body awareness, and accessing a greater sense of calm, connection, and belonging. Just as importantly, we equip the adults around them—educators, paraprofessionals, and caregivers—with tools that extend far beyond a single class.

Where We Are Now

With the support of partners like Rocky Mountain Human Services and DDRC, Move Through Yoga is actively delivering programming across:

Denver Public Schools (DPS) – 25+ schools through multi-week cycles
Jeffco Public Schools – expanding implementation across 25 schools
Aurora Public Schools (APS) – pilot completed, with strong interest for future growth

In the 2026–2027 school year, we will:

Deliver direct services to hundreds of students with I/DD across 50+ schools
Train 20 educators and 20 family members through our certification cohorts
Expand our three-tier model: direct services, professional training, and community advocacy

Our Goal: $25,000 for 2026 Expansion

To meet the growing demand—and ensure programs remain accessible to schools and families—we are working toward a $100,000 fundraising goal.

Sponsor partial tuition for a teacher, caregiver, or provider to complete our 65-hour Adaptive & Trauma-Conscious Yoga Certification
