In 2017,

I started to realize that my body wanted to move. There would be times when I desired to go to the local park, crank up the music, and let my body feel whatever it wanted to feel.

I desired to not care about who was looking or what they may have thought about me. I wanted to Love myself in a new way. I was walking, or better, dancing into the realization that something intrinsically natural was missing from my daily routine.

I would not have described myself as the most "open" growing up (in heart, words, etc.). I actually spent quite a bit of time alone in my bedroom. Maybe it was the absence of both a mother and a father as I was raised in a second-generation home with my amazingly resilient grandmother; me experiencing the stored trauma I hadn’t yet been mature enough to realize I needed to work through.

I grew up quite numb or without deep or intimate connections. I was closed off. It seems I didn’t become more expressive until sometime after 2014 when I moved to Philadelphia. Something healing happened in that MOVE for me. I could probably attribute it to the richness of the creative culture, the creative black culture, entrepreneurs, and even religious differences I was able to experience. Either way, the journey led me here.

NOW I just want the world to be able to tap into a freeing INNERGY. I want the world to learn to feel what’s happening in their bodies. I want the world to heal in its own time.
