Story

FairPlay is a women-led, speech-language pathologist founded 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that strives to make play accessible and affordable for all children, including kids with disabilities who may not be able to play with toys as they come off-the-shelf. Our team creates free and low-cost adaptive toy libraries for schools, clinics, and other facilities so that children have access to a variety of toys that suit their evolving interests and needs. We also host workshops to teach others how to adapt toys for their own children, students, or patients. Learn more about FairPlay here: www.fairplaylibraries.org

FAQ's:

Is this a 5K?
Not quite. While traditional 5K races are great fundraisers, we wanted to host an event that was true to our core value: accessibility. Whether you run, walk, roll, or ride, we invite you to join us by moving in a way that is accessible and enjoyable to you.

What kinds of movement count for the event?
Any kind! So far, we have had participants pledge to participate by running, walking, hiking, kayaking, scootering, rolling (in power chairs/wheelchairs), and dancing.
