We believe that everyone can use the arts to reflect on life experiences, express their ideas and beliefs, and discover the world and its challenges from a new perspective!
Your support goes directly to programming and artists that make the world more meaningful for individuals and communities through arts and cultural practices. We are a volunteer-operated organization that contracts artists, educators, and cultural advocates to help us create learning environments and experiences, in person and online, for people of all ages. Want to learn more? Look at some of our recent work in community.
In schools: Arts and cultural programming to support peace practices in the lives of the entire student body of Emerson Elementary School in Phoenix. Each child received a book A Culture of Peace, representing their words and images about peace and capturing the power of the arts in their school environment.
In community: In celebration of the International Day of Peace, an intercultural gathering brought people together to drum, to share words of peace, to enjoy dance and poetry, and to share foods representative of peoples from around the globe. Peace begins within and is communicated outward personally and between nations by our words and actions.
Online: Our video series Mandiani Rhythms! shares the joy of Mandiani, a West African drum and dance tradition that is beloved in the United States. The videos tell the story and teach drumming rhythms and dance steps.
Your gift to the Cultural Arts Coalition is a gift to community and each person we meet through our programs, resources, and events.
