You’re invited to sponsor a peer support group for 2027!

Mind the Movement provides mental health support and crisis training for democracy workers including campaign staff, grassroots organizers and fired feds. Our most popular program is our trauma informed peer support groups that we call The Resilience Room which we offer for free.

We provide training and stipends to each group's facilitator in partnership with Give an Hour, so while the groups are free for workers to attend - each group costs Mind the Movement several thousand dollars.

"I am so grateful to you all for creating this space for support. It was terrifying and difficult to leave my last job, but my health was declining and I needed less stress. I was feeling conflicted about the decision, (having no job and no income is pretty darn stressful!) demoralized and needed a place and time where it was okay to just process and hear coping strategies from others. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your labor and energy creating this space and especially for offering it at no cost." - Jobseekers group member

Democracy work is high stakes, high pressure, and increasingly traumatic – and we’re losing our best people. Mind the Movement is the first nonpartisan initiative addressing mental health issues impacting campaign staff, grassroots organizers and fired federal workers. The work was inspired by a report that showed democracy's first responders had little to no access to the mental health services they need to sustain their work for the long-haul. Mind the Movement's pilot program included crisis training for organizations, mental health grants for individual workers, peer support groups, trainings and consulting. We're now preparing to scale, in a challenging fundraising environment, but our colleagues are counting on us to continue offering support.

“Having the space was such a godsend in a moment when I was really feeling overwhelmed and demoralized…” - Peer group member
