Event Info:

Join us for another Branching Out program! Participants will have the opportunity to walk a trail at Warren Wilson College with a community volunteer (our Warren Wilson Queer Sociology friends from Monday drop-ins!) in a walk-n-talk environment (approx. 2:1 student:mentor ratio). Each volunteer will have discussion prompts that focus around communication, community connection, self-care, and nature connection. The first half of the hike will involve the walk-n-talk with a focus on the importance of developing a support network and providing resources for each participants’ mental health tool kit.. At the turn-around point, all participants will gather together and be offered some nature connection / play time (facilitated by Mountain Roots). The group will walk back to the starting point together, allowing space for the student participants to enjoy an afternoon hike with friends.

Drop Off/Pick Up Info:

Youth are dropped off anytime during programming and will be required to fill out a one-time Membership Form which includes their emergency contact information, and a Mountain Roots waiver.
