More than 30 years ago, music lover Marianne Liberatore noticed something missing from classical concerts in Connecticut: children. Determined to change that, she began creating interactive concerts that welcomed young listeners into the world of live music. That vision grew into Music for Youth, founded in 2002 on a simple but powerful belief: every child deserves the opportunity to experience the joy and inspiration of music.

Today, Music for Youth brings that vision to life through free concerts and educational programs that help young people discover music, develop their talents, build confidence, and find a sense of belonging. From a child's first musical encounter to opportunities to perform on stage and learn from professional musicians, our programs inspire young musicians to explore their interests, pursue their aspirations, and discover the power of music to connect us all.

We believe access to music should never depend on a family's financial circumstances. That's why our programs—including partnerships with schools in underserved communities—are offered free of charge.

It takes a community to raise a young musician. Our work is made possible by the generosity of donors, the dedication of parents, volunteers and educators, the talents of our musicians, and the support of community partners who share our belief in the importance of music education and live performance.

Your gift helps keep these opportunities open to every child. Whether large or small, every contribution makes a difference—supporting free concerts, enriching educational experiences, and the next generation of musicians and music lovers. Together, we can ensure that every young person has the opportunity to learn, perform, belong, and aspire.

Thank you for being part of the Music for Youth community!
