We discovered Mwana through Mountaintop Community Church 2 years ago during their VBS week. Our kids came home from their first day at VBS and wanted to set up a lemonade stand and for all funds to be donated to Mwana for the brick campaign and this is how I discovered this beautiful ministry. Last year I saw another Mwana Peer to Peer campaign and we felt led to give to Mwana because I have a love for Africa ever since I went on a mission trip in 2016. That trip changed my heart from the inside out and I promised myself that whenever an opportunity presented itself to be of service to my brothers and sisters of Africa I would say YES with no hesitation!
We are fundraising for the CAREGIVERS at the Mwana Refuge! The Mwana women who serve as caregivers work tirelessly all throughout each day to care for the holistic needs of the children. From dancing to reading time to praise and worship and outdoor play, these mamas show the children safety and love. Hiring local caregivers is also critical in orphan prevention, as providing vulnerable women with stable employment like this is one of the key ways to preserve families.
