The Crisis
On October 7th, Hamas launched a brutal terrorist attack on Israel, leaving thousands physically, emotionally, and psychologically wounded—but the trauma has not stopped. Over 500,000 people were displaced, and many still have not returned home. Hostages remain in captivity. Soldiers continue to fall. The trauma is relentless—bomb threats persist, economic instability deepens, and the collective sense of safety remains shattered.
This repeated and prolonged exposure to trauma has triggered a surge in PTSD, anxiety, and depression—overwhelming Israel’s mental health system and leaving thousands without access to critical care. Without urgent, culturally sensitive support, the invisible wound of trauma will continue to spread through families and communities, threatening to devastate lives for generations.
The Solution
In response, The David Center—launched with Leap Forward—is delivering innovative and specialized trauma therapy where it's needed most. Partnering with the Y.N.R Center and METIVTA, we've created a patient-centered, accessible, and culturally sensitive model. This is a two-year project that will aim to train 100 therapists and treat at least 600 individuals who have experienced trauma.
Key Initiatives
💙 24/7 Crisis Call Center: Trained volunteers offer intervention and referrals for high-risk patients ages 18+.
💙 Therapist Training: 100 professionals will be equipped with trauma-focused methods to deliver expert care.
💙 Innovative Treatment: Blending EMDR, Mind-Body Dialogue, and psychodynamic therapies.
💙 Culturally Sensitive Care: Prioritizing Orthodox and underserved communities.
💙 Affordable Model: Patients pay a small, income-based fee ($13-26 USD) to sustain services.

💥 Subsidize therapy for low-income patients
💥 Launch additional treatment hubs in Jerusalem, Petah Tikva, and Be’er Sheva
Lighting the Path to Recovery
Trauma may leave lasting scars, but it does not have to shape the future. With the right care delivered at the right time, healing becomes possible. This is the heart of our mission: to meet survivors where they are and walk with them toward recovery.
Your support is what makes that possible. You’re not just funding therapy—you’re giving people the chance to feel safe again, to rebuild their lives with dignity, and to cultivate strength, hope, and resilience for themselves, their families, and generations to come.
