In New Jersey, a Black mama is 7 times more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause than a white woman. More than 80% of those deaths are preventable. PHEI exists to change that. The Kitchen Table is where it gets done.

PHEI puts cardiovascular care at the heart of Black maternal health. Preeclampsia does not end at delivery. The support for Black women does not end at childbirth. We are the only organization in New Jersey doing this work this way, and monthly donors are the people who make it sustainable.
