Maxwell & Carter Scholarship Fund

This scholarship was created to help cancer survivors pursue their dream of a college education through the efforts of Cancer for College. Scholarships will be awarded annually to candidates who are cancer survivors, are enrolled in either an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college, university, community college or trade school and meet the criteria set forth by Cancer for College.

The scholarship committee is seeking candidates pursuing a career the following fields of study:

1. Science & Technology for Progress
• Environmental Science / Sustainability – Fighting climate change, developing clean energy, and preserving ecosystems.
• Biomedical Engineering – Innovating medical technologies to save lives.
• Computer Science (Ethical AI & Cybersecurity) – Ensuring AI benefits humanity and protecting digital rights.
• Renewable Energy Engineering – Advancing solar, wind, and sustainable tech.

2. Humanitarian & Social Change
• Public Policy / Political Science – Reshaping broken systems from within.
• International Relations – Solving global conflicts and promoting peace.
• Social Work / Psychology – Healing trauma and mental health struggles.
• Education – Revolutionizing learning to create informed, free-thinking societies.

3. Business & Ethics
• Social Entrepreneurship / Nonprofit Management – Building mission-driven businesses for real impact.
• Ethical Economics – Developing fairer financial systems.
• Corporate Social Responsibility – Restructuring business for sustainability and human well-being.

4. Arts, Media, and Communication
• Journalism / Media Studies – Exposing truth, fighting misinformation.
• Music & Art Therapy – Healing through creativity.
• Creative Writing / Philosophy – Shaping perspectives, inspiring movements.

5. Medicine & Health Sciences
• Public Health – Preventing disease and promoting global wellness.
