Soroptimist International of the Adirondacks- Investing in Dreams

Soroptimists work together to invest in women and girls near and far by giving them resources to achieve economic empowerment.

Your donations helps support the following community programs and scholarships

:

The Live Your Dream Award is a unique education award for women who provide the primary financial support for their families. The award provides monetary assistance to help women improve their education, and employment prospects.

The Violet Richardson Award is a recognition award for young women ages 14-17 engaged in volunteer action within their communities. The award is given to young women whose activities make the community and world a better place.

The Ruby Award honors women who have worked to improve the lives of women and girls in our community through volunteer work. Formerly the Soroptimist Making a Difference for Women Award, the Ruby Award was established in 1974 in honor of the first federation president, Ruby Lee Minar.

STEPS Bag Program Our SIA volunteers also work with local service agencies to provide STEPS Bags to women (and their children) in crisis. The bags contain essential toiletries, household & laundry items, food, gas cards and more to help support women who are survivors of domestic violence, homelessness and other hardships. Each STEPS Bag contains items of an approximate value of $60.

Feet First Shoe Program- In addition, our member volunteers support the Feet First initiative of the Family Service Association of Glens Falls to help ensure that children have properly fitting shoes for school. We also adopt a family at Christmas to help provide gifts and essentials for a family in need.

Your donation helps our volunteers continue to support these important programs that directly impact our own neighbors. We welcome donations of any amount and are grateful for your support.
