Team Excel's Story

Team Excel, as a synchronized skating program, is deeply connected to the 28 U.S. Figure Skating members who lost their lives in the tragic crash of AA Flight 5342. We are connected by the bonds of teamwork, dedication, and the shared love of skating. When members of our greater skating community are lost - especially in such a tragic way - the impact is felt far and wide. Team Excel is honored to participate in this memorial fundraiser to remember and celebrate the lives of all who died in the plane crash but especially Evgenia Shishkova, Vadim Naumov, Christine and Spencer Lane and Jin and Jinna Han. Their passion, spirit, and commitment to the sport continue to inspire us. By joining this event, we hope to not only honor their memory but also support initiatives that keep their legacy alive—through scholarships, outreach, or simply coming together as a skating family. This is more than just a fundraiser—it's a tribute, and we are proud to stand in solidarity with all those who continue to skate in their honor.
