We are hoping you can join us at our Harvest Gathering, our volunteer appreciation event on October 29, 3-5 at the Whitneyville Cultural Commons in Hamden.

The work we do—building community and reducing food waste one food rescue at a time—would not be possible without the cheerful, consistent, food “runs” our volunteers sign up to do. This year we are on track to rescue more than 2 million pounds of food in the New Haven region—that’s a lot of food we’re saving from landfills and using to feed our neighbors.

We like to pause one day a year and thank our 400+ volunteers for what they do. Although our overhead for this event is low (we can provide a lot of the refreshments from our food rescues!) there are obviously costs associated, and we’d be grateful for help offsetting the costs of the room, modest printing needs, and small gifts for our volunteers, among other things.
