Help Build a Learning Corner for Our Community
My name is Nadya Wong, and I am a Girl Scout from Troop 60722 working toward my Girl Scout Gold Award. For my project, I am focused on improving a space at the LGIC so it can better serve students, staff, and community members.
While spending time at the LGIC, I observed younger students learning in the open musallah and saw how difficult it was for them to stay focused due to constant noise and interruptions. This showed me the need for a dedicated, quiet space that supports students’ educational, spiritual, and emotional growth.
Through my Gold Award project, I aim to transform an underused area of the LGIC into a functional learning room by constructing a permanent wall to separate it from the open space, along with furnishing and designing the interior. Building this wall is the most important part of the project, as it creates privacy, reduces noise, and allows the room to be used consistently for learning, planning, and small group activities.
To complete this project, I am working to raise $12,000, which will go toward construction of the wall, furniture, and other essential improvements needed to make the space usable and welcoming.
This project allows me to give back to the community where I grew up and learned many of my own values. With your support, this space can become a long-term resource that strengthens education and community connection at the LGIC.
Please consider donating to this cause, no matter how small, as even the smallest donation can make a meaningful difference in helping this project come to life.
Jazakallahu Khairan, and thank you for your time and support!
