We come to you today with a heavy heart to share the devastating news of the unexpected passing of one of our Core member’s fathers. In a tragic accident that shook their world, Brandon's father was taken from them far too soon. As we grapple with this immense loss, we are rallying together to support Brandon, their sister Brooke, and their family during this difficult time.

William Ray Alexander, also known as Billy, was more than just a father and grandfather; he was deeply cherished by our neighborhood of Julia Keen/Barrio Centro. Many neighbors would see him riding his bicycle around the neighborhood, sometimes accompanied with his grandsons. Sharing a quick joke and laughter. Billy would often make drop-offs of his world-famous papas con chorizo burritos with the Flowers and Bullets’ farm crew. His sudden departure has left a void in our community that can never be filled. Not only is the family grieving the loss of a beloved father, grandfather, and neighbor … but they are also facing the daunting task of covering unforeseen expenses.

As small business owners, Brandon's family does not have the luxury of paid time off while they navigate emotions of grieving and the logistics that come with a sudden tragic loss.

The financial burden of funeral costs and the loss of income during this period of mourning weighs heavily on their shoulders. It's a burden that no family should have to bear alone.

That's why we are reaching out to our extended community for support. Our goal is to alleviate some of the financial strain on Brandon, Brooke (age 15 yrs) , and their family, allowing them to focus on healing and honoring the memory of Billy without the added worry of financial hardship.
