Real Estate with a purpose!

My name is Shemeca and I am the proud Founder/CEO of Namesake Real Estate. I help distressed property owners in the DMV area sell their properties at no cost to them.

My company was created for people like Mr. S (letters given to protect client identity), who inherited his late parent’s home, but he didn’t have the time or resources to repair and sell the property. Because the property sat vacant, racoons had damaged the roof. Through my services not only was he able to sell the property at a profit (in its current condition) but the property was then renovated, adding value to the community.

and for clients like Mr. K, a veteran who no longer possessed the capacity or desire to care for his rental property. The property had been uninhabited for quite some time and was in need of repair. With my help Mr. D was able to sell the property without paying high commission fees. The property was rehabbed and made inhabitable once again.

The inability to maintain a property can be emotionally and financially taxing. It is an experience that I know first-hand. My brother, sister and I lost our mother’s home when she died. She had been battling with brain and lung cancer and died shortly after we learned of her diagnosis. Due to our lack of knowledge and resources at the time, we were forced to let the property go into foreclosure. This was a hard moment for my entire family. But it was this landmark event that sparked my desire to create a company that would provide property owners solutions to selling their properties, regardless of their circumstance. Because of this I have wholly committed to my client’s relief by offering solutions to selling their properties that meet their specific needs.

To date, not only have my clients experienced cost savings averaging over $8k each but they also realized net profits of $80k combined! Because I handle the nuances of selling the property, my clients are able to focus on the things that matter most to them. Whether that’s properly mourning the loss of a loved one or enjoying their retirement, they can do so without the mental and financial burden of an undesired property.

But the benefits don't stop at my clients. The impact this has on communities is a reduction in crime, increased property value(s) and community fortification.

While my clients have found real relief and success with our services, I'm fully aware that there's a whole segment of potential clients who haven't even heard of us yet. Though traditional marketing efforts, mainly mailers, have scored us some wins, I know we can't rely on that alone to reach more people. Plus, trying to do it all alone as a solopreneur is a tough gig.
