How do you win? Vee will pick the name with the most money raised in this fundraiser to be the winner. In the event of a tie, the final decision will be determined by a vote of the current Mareworthy board of directors.

Criteria to consider for your name suggestion:

Vee is a chestnut Thoroughbred mare sired by Leroidesanimaux (BRZ) out of the mare Vallera (GER), by Monsun (GER)
The filly's sire is unknown. Limited information from the kill pen indicates the stallion MIGHT have been a black Appaloosa, but this has not been confirmed.
The filly is very independent, curious, intelligent, and energetic.
The filly was born with a small cataract in her right eye that does not currently seem to cause any issues but could lead to blindness in that eye later in life.
The Mareworthy team is currently referring to the filly as "Double You". This is a nod to the fact the "W" comes after "V" in the alphabet, and the filly was double the rescue when we pulled Vee from the kill pen. Additionally, the filly seems to have double the energy and double the trouble.

Mareworthy Charities exists to develop and manage programs that ensure all Thoroughbred mares whose racing and breeding careers have ended are tracked and provided with care that protects them from suffering and cruelty. We focus on placement and sanctuary for retired Thoroughbred broodmares.
