Natalia will be running various 5k races and honoring AAAD by dedicating each run to them!

Here is Natalia's WHY in her own words:

I started running track in junior high and continued through high school, where I dealt with intense anxiety surrounding competition. My goal was always to run in college, and I competed in events like the 400m, 4x200m relay, 4x400m relay, and hurdles. Despite my passion for running, I faced daily panic attacks, and the pressure to hide my struggles from coaches and teammates made it even harder. Along with the mental challenges, I suffered physical injuries, including severe knee pain and a foot surgery during my sophomore year.

Despite all of this, I made it to regionals my senior year, but by then, I knew I didn’t want to run in college, even though I had a few offers. I loved running too much to risk burning out or resenting it. Instead, I chose a different path and became the graphic designer for Sam Houston’s track and field team. This allowed me to stay connected to the sport without the pressure of competing.

Now, I continue to run almost every day, and I’m preparing to compete in 5Ks. However, these runs are about more than just fitness—they're about purpose. I've decided to dedicate all of my races to AAAD because I believe deeply in the importance of mental health, especially for athletes. No one should have to feel alone in their struggles, and every step I take is a reminder that resources are available, and mental health matters. Supporting AAAD allows me to give back and raise awareness, combining my passion for running with a cause that’s close to my heart.

Natalia will be fundraising along her running journey. Any funds she raises will go directly to FREE THERAPY for anyone in need!
