On June 1, I am heading back to the Gaza border with my reserve unit, Alog 99. Our unit, Avtacha, provides 24/7 security for the base at all entrances and along the perimeter. We sit 50 meters from the Gaza border, facing constant threat warnings day and night. We go in and out of Gaza, from Zikim to Nachal Oz as needed to provide support to the convoys and deliver essential goods to the various bases. We are the first line of defense for the base and the surrounding local area.

The protective gear I was issued dates back to the 1970s and 80s. I need to fix that before I go back.

I am raising 5,000 NIS to purchase a modern bulletproof vest and helmet so I can do my job and come home to my wife and kids.
