Your gift sustains our work toward ensuring that the lives of people who died from AIDS are never forgotten, and the story of AIDS is known by future generations. Over recent years, our mission and work has evolved and grown with renewed urgency, meaning, and impact. We share the story of AIDS with the intention of inspiring new generations of activists in the fight against stigma, denial, hate, and oppression — to ensure a just future, for all people.

The ten-acre National AIDS Memorial Grove in Golden Gate Park is a place of healing, remembrance, and reflection; a place consecrated in memory of every life touched by AIDS. The AIDS Memorial Quilt is composed of nearly 50,000 hand-made panels that memorialize over 105,000 people who died from AIDS.

These iconic AIDS memorials, coupled with our engaging programs, including the Surviving Voices AIDS oral history initiative, the Pedro Zamora Young Leaders Scholarship, the Mary Bowman Arts in Activism Award, Community Volunteer Workdays, Quilt Display Program, and annual World AIDS Day National Observance, are designed to bring us closer to a day when a community will never again be harmed due to stigma, prejudice, discrimination, and otherism.

The National AIDS Memorial receives no government funding. Our work is made possible by the generosity and commitment of donors like you. All that we have accomplished together is a profound testament to the unrelenting will of a community to unite and persevere through unimaginable tragedy, exemplifying the transition from hopelessness to hope.
