It's Autism Awareness/Acceptance Month – this year we’re again celebrating on #TeamFinn by raising awareness and funds through Steps for Autism MN. We continue to take advantage of many AuSM sensory friendly activities throughout the year including quiet mornings at the Como Zoo, Minnesota History Museum, and the Bell Museum/planetarium. As parents, we've also taken advantage of many free workshops to learn more about advocacy, resources, and how we can be the best support system for Finn.
Finn continues to be the sweet, snuggly, train, truck n' swing-loving 5-year-old boy we know and love, and he’s made some BIG little steps in the last year. He's in his 2nd year of ESCE/pre-school (& starting Kindergarten in the Fall!), he's continuing to learn how to use an assisted language device, he's discovered a love of salad (especially those that belong to his grandpa), and he loves to say “LUH YOU!” and count to 10.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, being able to experience the world through Finn’s eyes makes us the luckiest!
