At Next Century Sailing, sailing is just the beginning.

We use time on the water as a gateway to something bigger: aquatic safety, hands-on learning, service to others, and real-world skills that build confidence and independence. Through our programs, participants don’t just learn how to sail—they learn how to stay safe around the water, how boats work, how to maintain and repair them, and how to show up for their community.

Our students gain experience in:

Aquatic safety and seamanship
Hands-on skill building, including engine maintenance and fiberglass repair
Teamwork, responsibility, and problem-solving
Community service and stewardship of shared resources

These lessons stick. They travel with our participants long after they leave the dock.

Making all of this possible, however, requires well-maintained boats and reliable facilities. Boats are powerful teachers—but they are also expensive to care for. Replacement parts, routine maintenance, paint and bottom jobs, marina and club fees, and safety equipment are ongoing necessities, not one-time costs.

As a small, donation-driven nonprofit, every dollar we receive goes directly toward keeping our fleet safe, functional, and ready to support meaningful learning. Your gift helps ensure that participants are working on boats that are seaworthy, safe, and capable of teaching the full range of skills our mission promises.
